Dog Rock – The Dogumentary

Dog Rock – The Dogumentary

Dog Rock is a natural “big thing” in Albany, Western Australia. This
documentary has a quirky, but affectionate look at how the locals relate
to this tourist icon, and explores the Aboriginal and European legends behind the rock.

Serious consideration is also given to some of the more exotic ideas about the rock, such as moving it. Clearly it is a rock with many stories.

Williamson, Will Marwick and Julian Blogg through the ABC Open).

We’ll also be screening “Behind the Scenes“. 
The title of this 2 minute film speaks for itself!

Join ABC Open for a FREE event celebrating film and filmmaking in the Great Southern.

Enjoy watching some short films produced by local filmmakers in our region, and find out how they got started in filmmaking and what inspires them today.

Following a short break we’ll be discussing how to take a short film from first idea to finished product.

This will be an interactive session so bring along any ideas you would like some feedback on.

If you’re interested in having a go yourself you’ll also be able to find out how you can get involved in ABC Open’s new sports video project 110%, which is about capturing the passion of people who give 110% to their sport.

Guerrilla Photography

This one is all about low budgets and simple props using whatever is available.

With a few simple things and some lateral thought, your results will speak for themselves!

What’s involved…

9.30-11.30 2hr session Set Design Basics with Jon Carberry

12-2pm 2hr session Lighting 101 with a master mind of Guerrilla, Merlyn Moon

2.30-4.30 2hr session Photography Fundamentals with Merlyn Moon.

This Guerilla Photography Workshop will give an introduction to dressing sets and locations for film/tv/photography. The workshop will start with dressing a set with items we can beg/borrow or steal, discussing how to give the set visual depth and techniques like dressing to camera. The second and third sessions will cover lighting and photography using the set we have dressed earlier.

Cost: $20 per session or $50 for the whole day…wow what a bargain!

Ages 12 and up welcome

Adults welcome if spaces available | Cost $30 per session
